Privacy Policy for this Website
This policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit als-preview.de, including the User Guide, and what rights you have. The app has a privacy policy of its own.
In short: this website uses no analytics, no tracking and no advertising, sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and loads nothing from other companies. It runs on a server in Germany. Like every website, it can only be delivered if your IP address and a few technical details of your request are processed. That is all.
1. Who is responsible
The controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Marvin VogelWiebehowe 3
32457 Porta Westfalica
Germany
Email: contact@als-preview.de
We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not required to.
2. Delivering the website
When you open a page, your browser sends a request that contains, among other things:
- your IP address,
- the date and time of the request,
- the page or file requested, the HTTP status code and the amount of data sent,
- the page you came from (referrer), if your browser sends it,
- your browser and operating system (user agent).
This data is needed to deliver the website to you, to keep it secure and available (for example against attacks and overload) and to fix errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a secure, working website, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We don’t combine this data with other data and don’t use it to identify you.
Hosting
The website runs on a virtual server in Germany that we rent from STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. Your browser connects to this server directly; it processes the data listed above only to answer your request and keeps no access logs of your visits. STRATO acts as our processor under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR); connection data that STRATO itself collects to diagnose faults is deleted after seven days at the latest. Delivering the website involves no transfer of your data to countries outside the EU.
The domain’s name service (DNS) is provided by Cloudflare, Inc., USA. It tells browsers the address of our server, but your requests to the website don’t pass through Cloudflare.
3. Cookies and storage on your device
The website sets no cookies and stores no information on your device, neither in cookies nor in your browser’s web storage.
4. Contacting us by email
If you write to us, we process your email address, your message and any other details you include, to answer you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message concerns a contract or a purchase, and otherwise our legitimate interest in answering inquiries, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete your messages when they’re no longer needed, unless statutory retention periods apply (for example for business letters under German commercial and tax law).
Our mailbox is hosted in Germany by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany, which acts as our processor under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). On its way to us, your message also passes through the systems of your own email provider.
5. Links to other websites
The website links to the App Store and, in the User Guide, to other websites, for example the manufacturers of other software. No data is sent to these websites until you click a link; the App Store badge is part of our website. After clicking, the privacy policy of the other website applies.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we process about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
- have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR) or its processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR),
- receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
Your right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Where we process your data based on our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you can object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We then stop the processing unless we can show compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. To object, write to contact@als-preview.de.
To use these rights, write to contact@als-preview.de. Please note that we usually can’t link the technical data of a visit to you.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the one where you live, or the one responsible for us: Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
7. Other information
You don’t have to provide any personal data, but without the technical data described above, the website can’t be delivered to you. We don’t use automated decision-making or profiling.
We update this policy when the website or the law changes. The current version is always on this page.
