Free trial and purchase

Als Preview is free to download. Try everything for 14 days, then unlock it for good with one purchase. No subscription.

Coming 1 November 2026 The free download with the 14-day trial and Lifetime comes with Als Preview 2.0, available from 1 November 2026. Until then, the App Store still offers the previous version, 1.3, as a paid download.

The free trial

On the first launch, click Start 14-Day Free Trial. The App Store confirms it; it costs nothing and doesn’t turn into a subscription.
For 14 days everything works: the app, the plugin’s window in Live and Quick Look in Finder.

Buying Lifetime

Click Buy Lifetime in the bar, or on the screen after the trial. The price is on the button, including VAT. It’s one purchase through the App Store:

It unlocks all of Als Preview’s features: the app, the plugin’s window and Quick Look, and the features of future versions, 3.0 and later included.
It covers all your Macs with the same Apple Account.
A purchase waiting for approval, for example with Ask to Buy, unlocks as soon as it goes through.

Services with ongoing costs, such as cloud features, may be offered later as an optional subscription. Everything that works on your Mac stays part of Lifetime. Lifetime includes the local features of future releases, if and when they are released; it doesn’t promise indefinite development of new versions. Your statutory rights, including to updates needed to keep the app working as agreed, remain unaffected.

Who sells what

Apple handles the purchase and the payment. Depending on your country, Apple sells the app on our behalf (for example in the European Union) or acts as our agent, and Apple’s terms of sale apply. We are the provider of Als Preview and license it to you under Apple’s standard license agreement. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

After the trial

When the trial is over, the library window, the plugin’s window in Live and Quick Look in Finder ask you to buy Lifetime. Nothing is lost in the meantime:

The plugin keeps recording and tracking time in every set it’s on.
Your library, notes, collections and recordings stay where they are.
Settings stay open, for example to delete recordings.

Buy Lifetime, and everything is there again, including what was recorded while the app was locked.

Restoring, other Macs, codes

Another Mac, or after reinstalling: click Restore Purchases on the purchase screen. Signed in with the same Apple Account, Als Preview unlocks.
A code: click Redeem Code and enter it in the App Store sheet.
Without internet, Als Preview goes by the last answer it got from the App Store.

Bought Als Preview before?

If you bought Als Preview before version 2.0, when it was a paid download, you already own it: it unlocks by itself, or with Restore Purchases.
