Keyboard shortcuts and menus

Most of Als Preview works from the keyboard. These are all the keys and menu commands.

Everyday keys

Key	Does
`⌘F`	Search the library.
`↑` `↓`	Move through the list, from anywhere in the window. From the search field: go to the first or last result.
`←` `→`	Step to the save before or after of the selected project.
`Return`	Open: a project’s page, a folder, a collection.
`Space`	Play or stop the shown set’s recording; with no preview showing, Quick Look of the selected set.
`Esc`	One step back each time: close Quick Look, leave the project page, clear the search, clear the selection.
`⌘Y`	Quick Look of the selected set.
`A`	Show or hide automation lanes.

Open Live Set…	`⌘O`	A window for any single .als, outside the library.
Add Folder to Library…	`⇧⌘O`	Add folders with projects.
New View…	`⌥⌘N`	Save what the window shows, with the search typed, as a view.
Rescan Library	`⌘R`	Read all library folders again.

Find…

⌘F

Go to the search field.

as Projects	`⌘1`	One row per project.
as Sets	`⌘2`	Every set.
as Folders	`⌘3`	Your folders, like Finder.
as Timeline	`⌘4`	Projects on a time axis.
Show Backups	`⇧⌘.`	Live’s backups in the lists.
Hide Sidebar	`⌃⌘S`
Browser and Project Side by Side	`⌥⌘B`	Or one at a time.
Hide Preview	`⌥⌘P`	The arrangement.
Hide Inspector	`⌃⌘I`	The set’s details.

Back	`⌘[`	Back to the list from a project’s page; the folder or collection before.
Forward	`⌘]`
Enclosing Folder	`⌘↑`	In Folders and Collections.
Open	`⌘↓`	Open the selected folder or collection.

Welcome to Als Preview	The welcome from the first launch.
Set Up the Plugin in Live…	The plugin’s setup steps.
Set Up the Remote Script…	Install the Remote Script.
Take the Tour	A short tour of the window, one part at a time. `←` `→` move, `Esc` ends it.

Click	Move the start marker.
Double-click	Play from there, or stop.
`Space`	Play or stop.
`A`	Automation lanes.
`⌘` + scroll, pinch	Zoom.
Drag a track header	Into Live, to add the track with its devices and clips.
Control-click a track or clip	Copy Track, Search Library for its sample.

History: click a save to show it, ⌥-click to compare with it, ← → to step.
Timeline: Return opens the picked save’s details, Esc closes them; ⌥-click a row’s arrow to expand or collapse all projects.
Exported: Space plays or pauses the selected export.
Add to Collection: ↑ ↓ to move, Return to tick.
Settings › Storage: Delete deletes the selected recordings, after asking.
Quick Look in Finder: double-click the arrangement to play; Space closes Quick Look.

Double-click a project to open its page; in the side-by-side layout, to open its main set in Live.
Drag a project to Finder or Live to drag its main set; drag projects onto a collection in the sidebar to add them, onto a status’s view to give them that status, or onto Favorites to star them.
Drag views and collections in the sidebar to arrange them, also into other sections. See Arranging the sidebar.
Control-click almost anything for more: projects, sets, folders, views, collections, locations, the sidebar’s section titles, cards, Info fields, plugins, tracks, clips and exports.
